Butter Parmesan Pasta

  • Author: William Cantor

Description

A creamy, garlicky one pan Butter Parmesan Pasta ready in just 20 minutes. Perfect for busy nights or a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 ½ cups dry ditalini pasta

2 ½3 cups chicken broth

3 cloves garlic, minced

⅓ cup heavy cream

34 tbsp salted butter

½ cup parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

2 tbsp olive oil

Optional: Fresh parsley, red pepper flakes

Instructions

1. Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet over medium-low heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

2. Toast the Pasta: Add the ditalini pasta to the skillet and stir it with the garlic to evenly coat.

3. Cook the Pasta: Pour in enough chicken broth to cover the pasta, then add salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for about 9–10 minutes.

4. Check for Doneness: Stir; the pasta should be tender and most broth absorbed.

5. Add Cream & Butter: Stir in the heavy cream while keeping the skillet over low heat.

6. Incorporate Cheese: Add butter and parmesan, stirring until smooth.

7. Serve & Enjoy: Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes.

Notes

You can swap chicken broth for vegetable broth for a vegetarian option. For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
