Description
Make irresistible Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies loaded with old-fashioned oats and melty chocolate! These easy oatmeal cookies are slightly underbaked with buttery edges and finished with flaked sea salt.
Ingredients
1 cup (229 g) Unsalted butter, cold
1 ½ cups (330 g) Light brown sugar
½ cup (95 g) Granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon (15 ml) Pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups (270 g) All-purpose flour
1 ½ cups (120 g) Rolled oats
1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 cups (12 oz) Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Flakey sea salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Soften the cold butter for 10-15 seconds.
3. Combine butter with sugars and beat for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth.
5. Mix flour, oats, salt, and baking soda separately.
6. Combine dry and wet ingredients slowly.
7. Add chocolate chips and beat lightly.
8. Scoop dough onto lined baking sheet; top with flakey salt.
9. Bake 11-13 minutes until edges are golden.
10. Cool on tray 5 minutes, then move to rack.
Notes
Store cookies in airtight container up to 5 days.
Freeze dough balls for quick baking later.
