Description
Quick and flavorful Easy Chow Mein made in just 15 minutes with authentic homemade takeout taste.
Ingredients
12 oz chow mein egg noodles (thin fresh noodles, Hong Kong style)
½ small yellow onion (thinly sliced)
5 stalks green onions (cut into 2-inch pieces, whites and greens divided)
2 cups bean sprouts
3 tablespoons corn oil (or neutral oil)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon regular soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
½ teaspoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon water
Instructions
1. Pour boiling water over noodles and soak for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then drain
2. Mix dark soy sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and water until dissolved
3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in wok, sauté onions and green onion whites for 1 minute, then remove
4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add noodles, spread thin, cook 2 minutes until crispy, flip and repeat
5. Add remaining oil, vegetables, and sauce, toss gently for 1-2 minutes
6. Remove from heat, add sesame oil, toss, and serve immediately
Notes
Use high heat for best results
Do not overcook noodles
