Description

Easy Ravioli Sauce is a creamy, flavorful homemade pasta sauce made with butter, garlic, Parmesan, and tomatoes. It creates a rich and quick ravioli topping perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale

3 tablespoons salted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon tomato paste

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon dried basil

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon mustard powder

¾ cup chicken broth

1 ½ cups half and half

10 oz Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, drained (reserve juice)

3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

20 oz refrigerated ravioli

1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

1. Measure out all ingredients before starting.

2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add garlic and cook for 2 minutes while stirring.

3. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and seasonings.

4. Slowly add chicken broth while stirring. Gradually add half and half. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer.

5. Stir in cream cheese and drained tomatoes.

6. Cook ravioli according to package instructions and drain.

7. Reduce sauce heat to low. Stir in Parmesan until melted.

8. Add red pepper flakes if desired.

9. Gently fold ravioli into the sauce. Add reserved tomato juice if needed. Serve warm.

Notes

Reserve tomato juice to adjust sauce consistency.

Stir continuously when adding liquids to keep sauce smooth.

Serve immediately for best texture.
