Fried Tacos

Description

Fried Tacos with seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese, folded in corn tortillas and fried until crispy and golden.


Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

20 corn tortillas

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Oil for frying

Taco toppings as desired


Instructions

1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, crumbling as it cooks.

2. Stir in taco seasoning and 2 tablespoons water. Remove from heat.

3. Heat 2 inches of oil to 375 degrees.

4. Warm tortillas under a damp paper towel in the microwave for 30 seconds.

5. Spoon meat into center of tortilla and fold.

6. Hold closed with tongs and fry until it holds shape.

7. Fry 2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

8. Drain on thick paper towels.

9. Add shredded cheese and serve with toppings.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan.

Maintain oil temperature at 375 degrees.

Warm tortillas before folding to prevent cracking.
