Description

Grilled Vietnamese Chicken packed with aromatic BBQ flavor, smoky char, and juicy savory chicken goodness inspired by Vietnamese cuisine.


Ingredients

1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)

23 green onions (optional garnish)

1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice

1 1/2 tablespoons neutral oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon fish sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 teaspoons minced garlic

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes

1 tablespoon chopped cilantro


Instructions

1. Trim large fat pieces from chicken and pound to even thickness.

2. Mix lime juice, oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and cilantro.

3. Add chicken to marinade and coat well. Marinate 30 minutes or overnight.

4. Preheat grill to medium-high and oil grates.

5. Grill chicken 3-5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 160°F.

6. Rest for 5 minutes, garnish with cilantro and green onions, then serve.

Notes

Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.

Use thighs for juicier results.

Do not overcook to preserve moisture.
