Description

Crispy fried chicken layered in buttery biscuits with a drizzle of sweet and spicy hot honey – a southern breakfast made for brunch lovers.


Ingredients

For the Chicken:

4 boneless skinless chicken thighs

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil for frying

For the Biscuits:

2 cups flour

1 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

6 tbsp cold butter

¾ cup buttermilk

For the Hot Honey:

½ cup honey

12 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Pinch of salt


Instructions

1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for 30 minutes.

2. Mix flour and spices. Dredge chicken.

3. Fry chicken until golden.

4. Mix dry ingredients for biscuits, add butter and buttermilk.

5. Bake biscuits at 425°F for 12–15 mins.

6. Simmer honey with red pepper flakes and vinegar.

7. Assemble sandwich and drizzle with hot honey.

Notes

Best served warm. Adjust honey spice to your liking. Store components separately for freshness.
