Hot Honey Chicken

Description

Sweet, spicy, and incredibly tender shredded hot honey chicken made in the slow cooker. Perfect for sandwiches, sliders, or game day gatherings.


Ingredients

1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic salt

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast trimmed of fat

2 Tablespoons light brown sugar

1 cup honey

1 Tablespoon white vinegar

¼ cup unsalted butter pieces cut in small pieces

8 hamburger buns

sliced pickles optional garnish

non-stick cooking spray


Instructions

1. Spray the slow cooker vessel with non-stick cooking spray.

2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic salt.

3. Equally sprinkle the seasoning mix over chicken breasts.

4. Place the seasoned chicken in the bottom of the vessel.

5. Sprinkle brown sugar over the seasoned chicken breasts.

6. Drizzle honey and white vinegar over the chicken.

7. Place butter pieces over the chicken.

8. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.

9. Shred the chicken and mix it back into the juices.

10. Serve on hamburger buns with sliced pickles.

Notes

For the most tender results, cook on low.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Add ranch dressing or coleslaw for a creamy topping.
