Description
Philly Cheese Steak Foil Packets combine seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and melted cheese in an easy campfire meal with simple cleanup.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef 80/20
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup green pepper, cut into 1/2” pieces
4 cups potatoes, diced into 1/2” pieces
1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
4 slices provolone, Swiss, or American cheese
4 tsp steak seasoning blend
1 tsp pepper
Instructions
1. Cut 8 foil sheets approximately 14 x 10 inches.
2. Lay 4 sheets out and spray with nonstick spray.
3. Divide onions, potatoes, green pepper, and mushrooms evenly in the center of each sheet.
4. Crumble raw ground beef over vegetables.
5. Sprinkle each packet with seasoning and pepper.
6. Top with second foil sheet and seal tightly.
7. Cook over campfire, grill, or oven until vegetables are tender.
8. Carefully open packets, add cheese slice, cover loosely, and allow cheese to melt.
9. Adjust seasoning and serve.
Notes
Dice potatoes small for even cooking.
Use double foil if cooking over direct heat.
Open carefully to avoid steam burns.
