Description

A warm and comforting Saskatoon Berry Crisp featuring sweet Canadian berries and a buttery oat topping.


Ingredients

4 cups Saskatoon berries

½ cup sugar

1 Tablespoon flour

1 Tablespoon lemon juice optional

1 cup flour

1½ cups rolled oats

¾ cup brown sugar

1 cup butter


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.

2. Wash berries and pat dry.

3. Stir berries with sugar and flour. Add lemon juice if using and pour into prepared pan.

4. Mix flour, rolled oats, and brown sugar for the topping.

5. Add butter and blend until crumbly, then sprinkle over berries.

6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use fresh or frozen Saskatoon berries.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
