Description
Classic soft chewy chocolate chip cookies with the perfect balance of crispy edges and gooey centers.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
4. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients.
5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
6. Scoop dough balls onto sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
7. Bake 9–11 minutes, edges golden and centers soft.
8. Cool on sheets for 2–3 minutes, then move to rack.
Notes
For softer cookies, remove from oven slightly underbaked. Store in airtight container with bread slice to maintain freshness.
