Description
A quick, flavorful Asian-inspired stir fry featuring tender beef, sticky noodles, and a sweet-savory sauce ready in 25 minutes.
Ingredients
8 oz (225g) rice noodles (or lo mein/udon noodles)
1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 cups (120g) broccoli florets
3 green onions, sliced (plus extra for garnish)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
For the Sticky Sauce:
1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
2 tbsp rice vinegar (or lime juice)
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
1. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. Toss sliced beef with cornstarch.
3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear beef 2–3 minutes each side. Remove and set aside.
4. Add 1 tbsp oil, bell pepper, and broccoli. Stir-fry 4–5 minutes.
5. Add green onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook 1–2 minutes.
6. Whisk soy sauce, hoisin, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
7. Return beef, add noodles, and pour sauce. Toss to coat.
8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate beef in soy and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
Adjust sweetness or spice to your liking.
