Description

Creamy, buttery, and bursting with the freshness of cherry tomatoes and basil, this Tomato Butter Pasta is a comforting, quick dinner inspired by Italian cuisine.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved

4 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

¾ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup fresh basil, chopped

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)

Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.

2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

3. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Add cherry tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened.

5. Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.

6. Add pasta to the skillet and toss well.

7. Adjust sauce with pasta water as needed.

8. Stir in basil, Parmesan, and lemon zest.

9. Serve hot with extra cheese.

Notes

Use high-quality butter for the best flavor. Fresh basil and lemon zest add brightness that balances the richness of the sauce.
