Description
Vanilla Peach Jam is a sweet and simple homemade peach jam made with fresh peaches, sugar, and vanilla extract. Perfect small batch summer fruit preserves recipe.
Ingredients
3 pounds peaches, about 12 peaches, pit removed, peach flesh finely chopped
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Add the peaches and the sugar to a medium-sized, deep saucepan and turn the heat to medium until the mixture begins to bubble.
2. Reduce the heat to simmer and stir. Allow the mixture to cook and the fruit to naturally break down. Stir every 20 minutes or more frequently as it thickens.
3. When the jam reaches desired consistency, remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
4. Stir well and carefully pour hot jam into clean, sterile mason jars.
5. Wipe the jar rim clean, place seal and tighten lid until slight resistance is met.
6. Place jars on a towel undisturbed for 12 hours.
7. Listen for the popping sound indicating a proper seal.
8. Refrigerate for immediate use. Store sealed jars refrigerated up to six months.
Notes
Use ripe peaches for best flavor.
Chop peaches finely for smoother texture.
Sterilize jars properly before filling.
