White Queso Dip

Description

Creamy White Queso Dip made in just 15 minutes. This Mexican cheese dip is perfect as a tailgating snack or party appetizer.


Ingredients

1 jalapeno, seeded and finely diced

2 Tablespoons yellow onion, finely diced

1 Tablespoon red pepper, finely diced

1 Tablespoon salted butter

1 cup half and half

1 lb. high-quality American cheese

¼ cup Pico De Gallo

¼ cup Cilantro, roughly chopped


Instructions

1. Sauté jalapeno, onion, and red pepper in butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes until softened. Remove and set aside.

2. Heat half and half in a double boiler over medium heat.

3. Gradually add American cheese, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.

4. Stir in sautéed vegetables and mix well.

5. Remove from heat, garnish with pico de gallo and cilantro, and serve with tortilla chips.

Notes

Use a double boiler for smooth melting.

Cut cheese into smaller pieces for easier melting.

Reheat gently with extra half and half if needed.
